Who is the Wedding Planner and what does she do? Let’s be clear!
Have you ever stopped in front of a building that caught your attention and think “damn how wonderful, who knows how much work is behind it”?
It happens often to me. As you may have read on my social channels, I am a person who loves details and beauty in its most authentic sense and in all its forms and facets.
I started a bit from afar to tackle a topic that I have particularly close to my heart and which I think needs to be explored for many reasons.
There are many professionals who contribute to the success of a project. Each of these figures has specific skills, their own unique work style, a well-defined task that makes them irreplaceable.
Even marriage is a project and organising it is not a simple thing, just as it will not have been easy to build that building that caught your attention.
For some time now I have known how easy it is to improvise something or someone. One day stylist, one day photographer, one day flower designer… This thing is not only frustrating, but it also makes me very angry. Firstly because I know how much effort there is behind the shaping of a professional figure and secondly because it only foments the great confusion that hovers between people.
And we had the umpteenth proof just a few days ago with the absurd media “brawl” that was unleashed around the role of the wedding planner.
Confusing a “catering manager” with a “wedding planner” not only unleashed a shower of comments from which total disinformation emerged, moreover mixed with gratuitous malice, (which honestly impressed me very much) but also led me to the conclusion that spouses need clarity and to perceive the skills of a professional in a transparent way.
So who is the Wedding planner and what activity does she carry out?
The Wedding Planner is the figure who organizes and plans the event and who, guided by a sensitivity that few other professionals have, supports the couple from the beginning with the choice of suppliers to the fulfillment of their dream of love.
Some wedding planners, like in my case, are also wedding designers. This means that, in addition to supporting the spouses, I impose a real project through which I try to make their dreams come true.
In a nutshell, the wedding planner is a reference figure for the spouses and coordination between the various suppliers.
You know the comparison of the building? Here you are. The suppliers are the painters, the tilers, those who take care of the flooring, windows, doors, but also the furniture, paintings, furnishings and all of them refer to a foreman.
In the case of weddings, the suppliers (usually no less than 10) are those figures who provide you with services regarding: location, catering, flower design, cake design, graphic design, confetti, rentals, overnight stays, transfers, church-municipality, photographs, videos, musical entertainment, shows, ateliers, accessories, decor, etc. and therefore the foreman, the one who coordinates, is the wedding planner.
Why can having a wedding planner by your side make a difference? Because, if he carries out his job with seriousness and knowledge of the facts, he selects the people with whom to collaborate and with whom to develop your “wedding project” as if he were organising his wedding.
This means sensitivity, empathy and the ability to discern. This is not to say that a bride may not be able to evaluate and choose what she believes best suited to her wedding, but you will agree with me that a person who does this professionally can perhaps see further.
And above all, thanks to the network that he has the opportunity to build with other colleagues, he knows very well if any of the suppliers are carrying out their duties in a not very serious way. And you will realize that in the age in which we live, rumors run quite easily!
So, dear bride who is reading me and who is about to decide whether to trust someone who is offering you something that is beyond their competence, evaluate well, give yourself time and think.
Choosing a wedding planner will certainly not make you a superficial or incapable bride, quite the contrary.
Rather, it will give you the opportunity to live your marriage with greater serenity and to see the project of a lifetime realized by having a friend, a support and a discreet presence at your side able to orchestrate a day that you will remember forever. .
