Wedding perfume: how to choose the most suitable fragrances for your wedding.
Since ancient times, the aromas of herbs, flowers and woods were used to officiate the most important events in the life of a human being: birth, death and of course marriage.
The Greeks, for example, believed in the connection between perfumes and divine beings, thinking that the former could generate a way of accessing the knowledge of the same divinities.

Over the years, what seemed to be a simple belief has evolved enough to demonstrate that there is a scientific foundation that binds perfumes to the ability to develop memories.
The sense of smell is the most primordial of our senses and is in fact the direct activator of the limbic system, that is, the one that deals with regulating emotions and memories. From a perfect integration between this system and some areas of our brain, the magic is generated through which we are able to give the perfume an affective connotation and to preserve it over time.
So why not rely on the extraordinary power of smell to create a refined, elegant and exclusive wedding?
Today I want to offer you some useful ideas to create a pleasant sensory experience for you and your guests.
To help you in your choice, I advise you not to opt for delicate and fresh fragrances and avoid too strong and cloying scents. You could have the opposite effect to what you set out to do.
Trust in competent people.
There are real master perfumers or “noses“, who deal with the creation of perfumes and fragrances, orienting you on the most suitable olfactory family for your wedding (know that there are 7 of them!)

Be careful to ask for essential oils and not essences,
Essential oils are a totally natural and extremely valuable product, while the name “essence” usually indicates products made with synthetic materials that have little to do with the principles of aromatherapy and with nature.
A first alarm bell to recognize the validity of the product is knowing how to read the label and check elements such as: extraction method, batch number and date, purity and integrity of the oil and of course price.
Remember that a sensory experience, focused on smell, does not depend solely on the choice of bouquet and floral details.
Have you already chosen the fragrance with which you will perfume the environment in which you will prepare yourself or the one you will wear on your wedding day? Lavender and the citrus notes of bergamot, orange and lemon seem to be among the favorites of brides.
The first approach for this sensory experience will be the invitations you send to your guests. You could perfume them with the fragrance you have chosen as the fil rouge of the wedding or even choose a card with dried flowers that can be linked to it. You could also re-propose the fragrance in the wedding bag intended for your guests, inserting scented Kleenexes for tears of joy.
It will then be very important to perfume the various rooms in which the ceremony will take place, from the rite to the banquet.
For the church, the floral decorations you have opted for will be just fine, you could instead think of an “olfactory” ring holder by spraying the fragrance made for your wedding or even having it made with fragrant woods such as pine, liquidambar or calocedrus..
To perfume the location where the banquet and the wedding party will be held, it will be good to use suitable equipment.
In addition to diffusers to be inserted in the various areas, you could give a truly sensory touch to your banquet by choosing combinations that also involve sight and taste and which, on an olfactory level, recall the main fragrance of your choice.
As for the tables and their arrangement, you could use natural bubbles as centerpieces (which do not overlap the essences emanating from the flowers) or compositions with aromatic, succulent or citrus-based plants.
As a placeholder, I suggest you some transparent vials with a pot pourri that recalls the olfactory theme you have opted for or some scented chalks.
In the case of a fish-based banquet, a very original idea could be the presence of scented wipes to refresh your hands, made with the essential oils you have chosen.
An original and unusual touch could be the presence of an Aromatic Bar at your wedding.
It is a sort of “olfactory island” in which, under the guidance of a “master odorist”, you can offer your guests aromas and olfactory accords made at the moment and the possibility of creating a personalised perfume to take home as a cadeau de marriage.
As you can see, to transform your wedding into a real olfactory experience, no special precautions are required. Just rely on the scents that nature offers and do not overuse them.
A warm hug
