Have you decided to celebrate your wedding in autumn? Today I want to give you some tips to organize a perfect fall wedding.

Although autumn is a wonderful season to say the least, newlyweds often tend to discard it. Mainly for the fear that the weather conditions are not the best and then because, in the common imagination, this period of the year is not particularly suited to the spirit of a wedding.

Nothing more wrong!

Thanks to its shades, its scents and the beauty of the light that characterizes this season, autumn manages to create unique and unrepeatable atmospheres, all using only what nature offers.

But let’s go step by step and find out together how to best plan a fall wedding.

Choose a location that allows you to face any unforeseen events

Autumn is very generic, considering that this season runs from mid-September until late December. Therefore (despite the fact that outdoor locations are becoming increasingly attractive) consider a location that can offer you a variety of spaces that will allow you to resolve any unforeseen events related to the weather. If you have entrusted yourself to competent people, you will see that they will be the ones to offer you valid solutions.

The choice of the bouquet

On the bouquet you are spoiled for choice. Autumn is a season full of intense colors such as orange, red in its various shades, brown and green.

You just need to calibrate the tones well and not to overdo it. Among the most popular combinations is protea together with eucalyptus leaves and magnolia, but if you like to dare you can consult with your florist and ask him to include berries, red apples or small pumpkins in your bouquet.

The wedding stationery

Invitations, save the date, tableau de mariage, menus and place cards, in one word wedding stationery.

Here too, the advice is to remain as closely linked as possible to the characterizing elements of this season and select details that recall nature.

As for invitations and save the date, I really like the idea of using Kraft paper combined with jute details and the choice of colors such as burgundy and greenery.

The tableau de mariage could be made with the use of wooden boxes containing seasonal fruits such as apples, pears, pumpkins (which can also be used as a placeholder) on which to place the name of each guest.

Details for the location

As I told you, the light in autumn is really special. This is why I would not use particularly aggressive LEDs or lights that would alter the natural atmosphere. Instead, plenty of space for candles and lanterns, both on the tables and to decorate the location itself.

Speaking of tables, the imperial table in untreated wood combined with copper seats is an excellent solution to welcome your guests as well as being a combination particularly in line with the autumn style.

On this type of table it is very important to focus on an effective mise en place. Of course, the choice must remain in line with the style of the wedding, but a very interesting combination is that of the fresh shades of turquoise with the more decisive tone of the rust color.

As for the centerpieces, autumn fruits and flowers combined with wooden elements are fine, but if you are looking for something more particular you can omit the insertion of the centerpiece and opt for an installation of branches and fall leaves as if to recreate a garden of ‘winter.

Choice of menu

The menu must of course reflect the tastes of the couple, but with all the wonderful products that autumn offers, my advice is to focus heavily on seasonality.

Have you thought about the idea of welcoming your guests with a packet of chestnuts or spiced pumpkin fingers, perhaps accompanied by a good new wine? The spirit would certainly be that of a convivial and engaging party.

As for the sweet table, you could combine pomegranate, grapes, apples and pears in season with the selection of desserts you have selected. They would create a wonderful chromatic effect as well as olfactory!

As a final treat, in addition to the possible presence of an open bar, you might consider adding a corner where guests can enjoy hot chocolate (perhaps to be enriched with spices or caramelized fruit) or mulled wine.

Cadeaux de mariage “Gifts”

As I wrote in some of my previous posts, I don’t really like “discounted” favors. Gifts for guests must also be part of the sensory experience that a wedding can offer.

Food and wine cadeaux are an excellent solution. From jams to wines with personalized labels, to chocolate or honey, an edible gift is always a GOOD gift!

Even today I hope to have given you some useful and interesting tips for organizing your wedding. Remember, the watchwords are always the same: balance and elegance.

See you soon!
